Common Questions

1. What types of video formats can you transfer to digital?

We can handle almost any consumer format from the past 70 years! This includes standard VHS, European PAL VHS, Betamax, Compact VHS (VHS-C), Hi8, Mini DV, and vintage 8mm, Super8, and 16mm film reels.

2. Can old VHS tapes be transferred to a USB drive or cloud storage?

Yes! In fact, we highly recommend transferring to digital MP4 files rather than DVDs. We can place your digital files on a USB thumb drive, making it incredibly easy to plug into modern Smart TVs, share on social media, or back up to your computer and cloud storage.

3. Will the video lose quality when transferred to digital?

No. We use professional-grade capture equipment designed to extract the highest possible fidelity from your aging tapes. While we cannot magically turn a blurry 1980s VHS into 4K video, our process ensures zero quality is lost during the transfer, and we actively remove blank static to improve the viewing experience.

4. What digital formats can my videos and audio be transferred to?

Video is delivered as highly compatible MP4 files, and audio is delivered as high-quality MP3 files. If you prefer physical media, we can burn them to standard playback DVDs and CDs.

5. How long will it take to transfer my audio and video to digital?

Because all transfers are done carefully in-house (we never ship your irreplaceable memories away to a massive warehouse), turnaround times depend on our current studio queue and the size of your order. When you drop off your media, we will provide you with a reliable completion estimate.

6. How should I store my original tapes after they are transferred?

Once digitized, your memories are safe! However, if you wish to keep the physical originals, store them upright in a cool, dry, temperature-controlled environment (avoid basements or attics). Keep magnetic tapes away from speakers or strong magnetic fields.
